We are now recruiting for a Finance Director on a 12-month Maternity Cover contract, to join our Finance team at our UK Head Office in Leyland, near Preston.
We are now recruiting for a Finance Director on a 12-month Maternity Cover contract, to join our Finance team at our UK Head Office in Leyland, near Preston.
In this role you will provide financial leadership to the business for the following functions: Management Accounting, Finance Systems, internal & external financial and regulatory reporting, Financial Control and Treasury. You will deliver a quality financial service to the dnata Travel UK businesses and shared service functions, driving efficiencies and delivering accurate reporting in line with group policies.
We’re looking for someone with several years’ experience in financial roles at a similar level, ideally with a travel industry background.
You need to have a proven record of leadership, providing individual and team development, along with motivating and driving a high-performance culture.
This is a hybrid role, however initially there may be a requirement to be more office-based. Some UK travel will be required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide regular communication and financial support for the dnata Travel UK businesses and shared service functions
- Lead the standardisation of Management Accounts and Financial reporting across the dnata Travel UK businesses and shared service functions providing recommendations and driving change where appropriate
- Build and maintain a robust financial control environment and culture UK group wide ensuring alignment with GFR manual & policies
- Ensure engagement and delivery in the audit process including providing accurate and timely audit deliverables, managing the relationship and working closely with internal and external audit partners
- Provide effective communication of financial performance for the dnata Travel UK businesses and shared service functions. Including consolidated reporting for actuals, forecast & budget, statutory accounts and GFR reporting & liaison
- Ensure that all balance sheets are fully and appropriately reconciled, and control risks highlighted and opportunities identified
- Maintain, develop and exploit UK ERP and other Finance related systems
- Provide accurate and timely ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to the dnata Travel UK businesses and shared service functions
- Oversee dnata Travel UK balance sheet, cash flow budget and forecasting process, pre-empting and escalating areas of concern at the earliest stage
- Deliver a change in culture from multi-individual businesses to UK business shared service group ensuring engagement and sharing best practice
- Lead the Finance team providing leadership, motivation, and development opportunities ensuring a robust succession plan is in place
Qualification & Requirements
- Knowledge of accounting standards and financial control frameworks
- Strategic thinker with the ability to visualise opportunities, re-engineer and improve business processes
- Knowledge of the travel industry regulatory rules and environment
- Leadership capabilities with excellent influence and negotiating skills
- Numerate and analytical thinker, self-motivated and solution orientated
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify opportunities to improve revenue and profits
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communicator, comfortable with communicating at all levels
- Strong interpersonal skills and team management
- Able to work in a team environment and autonomously
- In depth travel industry knowledge highly preferred
- Reporting and presentation skills
- Significant Post Qualified Accounting Experience
