Position Overview

This position is available to work from home in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah.

Director, Purchasing

Key Responsibilities

Manages the overall operations of the department including, but not limited to, the cost-effective procurement of supplies, equipment, and services for assigned area/affiliate/region which may include hospitals, care centers, support service departments and ancillary services. Sets priorities and allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual plan. Develops and establishes the direction of policies and procedures and sets a structure for providing a safe and productive work environment. Establishes overall operating and capital budget with input from management team, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are addressed timely.

Qualification & Requirements

Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

  • Bachelor’s: Business Administration, Healthcare or related field or equivalent education/experience

  • 12 years recent relevant experience.

  • Solid understanding of operations and workflows, and how department’s process/workflow impacts other department operations.
  • Understands business and operational requirements, demonstrating ability to design and establish goals to meet long and short- term objectives.
  • Demonstrates credible leadership presence, with the ability to respond to questions with logic, clarity, calmness and authority; and the ability to motivate and engage others.
  • Ability to build and establish effective working partnership with employees, peers and leaders to achieve business objectives.
  • Verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey concepts and communicate information or issues in a manner that is readily understood by management and employees.
  • Delegates effectively, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
  • Demonstrates ability to work/interact with a diverse population while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.
  • Collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various stakeholders.

Benefits

Pay Range is $73.24 to $117.19 / hour. California Pay Range is $73.24 to $117.19 / hour. Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Texas Pay Range is $66.58 to $106.53 / hour. Arizona, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Utah Pay Range is $50.93 to $95.88 / hour.

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
