Description

The Director of Shared Services leads all activities for optimizing the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable life cycle through the ownership of the disbursement and invoicing process by the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Director of Shared Services proactively works with enterprise-wide stakeholders as a strategic partner between Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Operations. This position must use independent judgment and initiative in the planning, organization, assignment, and reporting of work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operation of the Shared Services Department including accounts payable, accounts receivable/invoicing, and collections including day-to-day supervision, direction, and training to a team of direct reports.
  • Drive standardization of shared services processes including proper documentation, distribution, and communication.
  • Implement strategies as a shared services operation to meet all deadlines and related responsibilities in support of the enterprise and the strategic vision of leadership while ensuring timeliness and accuracy of both processes.
  • Must understand the entire accounts payable and accounts receivable process and serve as a resource of knowledge and guidance for the department.
  • Aide in the development and implementation of cross-system training for all shared services resources.
  • Review and analyze aging reports weekly and reconcile related accounts monthly.
  • Review and interpret operational data to assess the need for procedural revisions and enhancements; participate in the design and implementation of specific processes to enhance revenue and operating efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department or that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.
  • Support a positive workplace culture to attract and retain talent.

Qualification & Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with a concentration in accounting from a four-year college or university is required.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in demonstrated progressive responsible accounting leadership roles is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with accounting software and a comprehensive understanding of GAAP is required.
